Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was forced to leave the world champions France's training session on Monday, after suffering a thigh injury, according to AFP correspondents present at the scene.
Pogba felt pain after hitting the ball on the goal between the three woods, Alphonse Areola, and then put a hand on his right thigh before being accompanied outside the field by the team doctor.
Pogba was the only field player with Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Bavard participating in this training session, which was personally supervised by the coach of the national team, Didier Deschamps, on the first day of the camp for the last two rounds of the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Pogba missed his Manchester United team Saturday in the match they lost at home against their arch-rival Manchester City 0-2 in the Premier League because of his expulsion in a humiliating 5-0 loss at Old Trafford, also at the hands of rivals Liverpool, which was preceded by two stages.
France meets Kazakhstan on Saturday at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, before it hosts Finland in the last two rounds of Group D, which leads the world champions by three points from the second Ukraine with a match less than the last.
And qualify directly for the finals of the ten group champions, with the runners-up teams entering a play-off with the participation of qualified teams from the European Nations League to determine the identity of the other three teams that will represent the old continent in the 2022 World Cup.
