Qatari club Al Sadd announced on Friday the transfer of coach Xavi Hernandez to take over the responsibility of coaching Barcelona.
Al Sadd said in a statement via its official account on the social networking site Twitter: “The Qatari club’s management agreed to transfer Xavi to Barcelona, after paying the penalty clause stipulated in his contract.”
Al Sadd Club added: "Xavi is an important part of Al Sadd's history. We wish him all success in the next stage."
It should be noted that Barcelona had sacked its Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman, last October, due to the negative results he recorded.
